| The best time to install solar panels is during
the new construction phase; however, Bobcat & Sun can install them
on your existing home as well.
Once the panels are installed, in place of a water heater we install
a heat exchanger which transfers the solar heat to your water.
To the right is a picture of the solar water heating system inside your
home. Notice the small tank at the top right. It is a drainback
tank which is used to drain liquid from the panels when they are not active.
Ask one of our representatives how this extends the life of your system.
The larger tank to the right is the Heat Exchanger. It transfers
heat from the solar panels to the water.
While the system looks a bit complicated, it is virtually maintenance-free
and can save you money. Be sure to look into the Oregon Residential
Energy Tax Credit.
The solar water heating system used by Bobcat & Sun has been awarded
OG-300 certification by Solar Rating & Certification Corportation.
This means you will have the credentials you need to qualify for the Oregon
Residential Energy Tax Credit.
Tax credits are also available for solar heated swimming pools.
Aside from the tax incentive, solar heat for your pool or spa is
a sensible and environmentally conscious way to save on energy costs
over the long haul.
